MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Saturday's temperatures will be similar to Friday's, with cold sticking around before Sunday kicks off with a warm and mild start.
Weekend Forecast
What we know: Flurries to a dusting of light snow will drop out of northern Minnesota today.
This very light snow will taper off toward the Twin Cities, but flurries can’t be ruled out. Temperatures will stay cold, similar to what we had yesterday.
Temperatures stay steady or even rise in some places overnight, leading to a milder start for Sunday.
Temperatures continue to climb into the upper 20s and some lower 30s by the afternoon.
Sunday will be a little breezy at times with southeast winds gusting to near 20 mph.
Extended Forecast and Holiday Weather
Looking ahead: The weather pattern is shaping up to stay mild and fairly warm as well.
Temperatures hit near 30 degrees or just above early in the week with highs on Christmas Day near or just above the freezing mark.
I’m still expecting a white Christmas for most that saw this snow, but after Wednesday we’ll start to compact and melt a little more snow.
Highs toward the end of the week will be around 10 degrees above seasonal averages with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 30s in some places.
The precipitation forecast is looking to be very minimal this week.
The forecast shows a few flurries cruising through on Monday with a dry midweek forecast.
Another small chance of sprinkles and stray drips may come near the metro area around Friday.
Travel around the region is looking good with the milder weather, as well with roadways likely to clear and dry up.
