After a snowy midday on Tuesday, more winter mess is on the way.

Overnight, there will be freezing rain, fog, and light snow across the metro with a Winter Weather Advisory in place into Wednesday afternoon.

Look for snow to redevelop late Tuesday evening and linger into Wednesday afternoon with the possibility of another three to five inches of commute busting snow.

Notable snow totals across the Twin Cities metro from Tuesday afternoon's snowfall include Waconia (6.4 inches), Chanhassen (5.5 inches) and Hopkins (5.2 inches).

Current road conditions across Minnesota

According to MnDOT's website, roads across southern Minnesota are covered or partially covered in snow and/or ice, while major roads in the Twin Cities are largely clear, except for some icy spots.

In south-central Minnesota, MnDOT is advising no travel in numerous counties (dark purple on the map below) Tuesday morning due to dangerous travel.
