Minnesota weather: Quiet, seasonable Tuesday with late evening snowflakes
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Tuesday will be quiet and seasonable before a cold front brings snow and plunging temperatures later in the night.

The day will be relatively mild with northwest winds at 5-10 mph, and mostly cloudy skies with the occasional breaks for patchy sunshine.
Expect temperatures closer to seasonable on Tuesday with widespread highs in the mid to upper 20s. The Twin Cities metro daytime high is 27 degrees.
A cold front arrives later in the night, bringing some light snow across Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area. Some areas may see a light dusting and up to a quarter of an inch of accumulation.
Looking ahead
As the cold front settles in on Wednesday, temperatures will plunge into the single digits for central and southern Minnesota, while northern Minnesota will see subzero temperatures.
Gusty winds will make it feel even colder on Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures in the Twin Cities metro will feel in the negative teens, while temperatures in northern Minnesota will feel between minus 20 and 30 degrees.
Thursday brings lighter winds and more sunshine, though the cold persists with highs in the single digits. Things start heating up by the end of the week with temperatures in the 20s on Friday and into the 30s for the weekend.
