What to expect: It will be a quiet New Year’s Eve with seasonable temperatures in the 20s. The Twin Cities metro area's daytime high is around 28 degrees. The cooler air is moving in due to a shift to northwest winds, which will bring a noticeable chill with wind speeds at 10-15 mph.
The cloud coverage will remain in place on Tuesday, though some sunshine could break through later in the afternoon.
By Tuesday night, skies will remain cloudy and temperatures will dip into the lower 20s, though conditions will remain relatively mild.
