MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Expect a sunny yet bitterly cold Tuesday across Minnesota, with single-digit temperatures and subzero windchills.

What to expect:
It’s the coldest morning of the season so far in the Twin Cities with temperatures at minus 8 degrees and windchills as low as 30 degrees below zero.
A cold weather advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for parts of central, southern and western Minnesota, including the metro, due to these dangerous windchills.
Expect sunny blue skies and gradually lightening winds. As the day progresses, temperatures across the state will warm into the single digits, with pocket highs in the teens for southern Minnesota, though it will still feel below zero.
The Twin Cities will reach a high of 9 degrees, and feel around minus 4 degrees. Overnight lows won’t be as cold and bottom out near zero degrees in the metro.

Warmer conditions are on the way as the frigid air mass moves east on Wednesday. A clipper system will bring cloud cover to the state and the possibility of snow flurries in northeastern Minnesota. Temperatures will climb quickly, peaking in the evening near 30 degrees.
The warmer trend continues on Thursday and Friday, with daytime highs in the 30s. However, another round of arctic air arrives by the weekend, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures.
Highs will fall into the teens on Saturday, single digits on Sunday, and below zero on Monday. Overnight lows will be well below zero.
