MN weather: Possible record breaking warm Sunday
Sunday could break another warm record with an expected high temperature of 70 degrees in the metro area. Sunday will be mostly sunny, but windy. A cold front is expected to pass through Minnesota this afternoon, which might cause some showers and possibly thundershowers.
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Twin Cities set two weather records on Sunday, as Minnesota enjoy a warm spring day.
The temperature at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport hit 74 on Sunday afternoon, crushing the previous daily record of 65 degrees set in 1905.
Sunday also marked the earliest 70-degree day ever in the Twin Cities. The same records were broken in St. Cloud and Eau Claire.
A cold front will pass through Minnesota Sunday afternoon and then through the metro Sunday evening, bringing a small chance for a few pop-up showers and thundershowers. These will likely pop up just east of the metro in western Wisconsin.

Temperatures cool down to the lower 30s by Monday, with high temperatures reaching the upper 40s tomorrow afternoon. Although the forecast is still above average for Monday, it will feel much cooler coming off multiple days of record spring warmth.
