MN weather: Warmer Sunday, cloudy skies

Temperatures are warmer than Saturday with cloudy skies expected. Meteorologist Denise Isaac has the full forecast.

It's a cool start to the morning, but not as cold as 24 hours ago when temperatures were in the single digits.

Sunday forecast

What we know: Highs today will reach 30 degrees, right on par with where we should be at this time of year.

Mostly cloudy skies will dominate, but the forecast will remain dry and snow-free on Sunday.

The system out of Montana will move into our area tonight, but the forecast is trending drier for Sunday night into Monday.

A dusting of snow is most likely in western Wisconsin along with the potential for freezing drizzle, while most of us in the Twin Cities and sections north and west won't experience snow or a wintry mix.

Holiday forecast

Looking ahead: We are on track for having a white Christmas, because even though we won't get new snow, the current snowpack will likely stick around until Christmas Day.

By Thursday, a warming trend will begin with highs in the low to mid 30s and near 40s possible by later in the week with a chance for showers Friday.
