MN weather: Warm and sunny weekend ahead

Sustained winds from the south are expected for this afternoon, likely bringing warm temperatures with them. Some areas may come close to 80° and possibly even higher. Winds are forecasted to change directions Sunday, likely coming from the northwest with less intensity. Temperatures are projected to be in the lower 70s by Sunday afternoon.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Temperatures will likely climb into the upper 70s with even a few hitting 80° Saturday afternoon.

The wind is projected be a factor on Saturday with a noticeable breeze gusting into the 20s out of the south.

Temperatures are expected to peak in the lower 70s on Sunday with abundant sunshine continuing.

The 70s will likely continue Monday before showers and thunderstorms roll in Monday night through Tuesday.
