(FOX 9) - Parts of Minnesota got some much-needed rain on Saturday, with some areas in southern parts of the state seeing more than two inches of rain.
Leading the way with rain totals was Faribault with a recorded 2.31 inches through the day on Saturday. Maple River and Northfield also recorded rains falls above 2 inches on Saturday.
While it's nice to see some rain, Saturday's showers won't be a drought-buster. While some areas got a couple of inches of rain, especially to the south of the metro, others further north received only a few tenths of inch.
Overnight the rain will become more scattered and spotty. Sunday, we will have another chance of rain but we won't see totals as we saw on Saturday. More afternoon summer storms could also follow for early next week.
But, even with the rainfall, we'll still need several rounds of rain showers to catch up from the drought.
