Boy dies in ATV crash in Dakota County, Minnesota
RANDOLPH, Minn. (FOX 9) - Officials are investigating after a boy was killed in an ATV crash Tuesday evening in Dakota County, Minnesota.
According to the sheriff's office, at about 6:29 p.m., authorities responded to an ATV crash in Randolph. When deputies arrived, they joined an off-duty nurse and firefighter in providing life-saving efforts to the boy. However, the boy, identified as 9-year-old Carter Nicholai, died of his injuries.
Officials learned that the boy, who lived in the neighborhood, was operating the ATV over dirt piles on an open lot when the accident occurred. The rollover was unwitnessed and reported by a passerby who found the boy unresponsive under the ATV.
