Fire at Tink Larson Field a suspected arson
WASECA, Minn. (KMSP) - The Waseca Police Department and State Fire Marshal say arson is the suspected cause of the April 6 fire that destroyed the iconic Tink Larson Field. Investigators recently asked a man seen at the field the night of the fire to come forward. That man has since been interviewed and he is not a suspect.
Anyone with information should call the Minnesota Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020. Callers can remain anonymous. The Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction through the Minnesota Arson Reward Project. The city of Waseca is also offering up to $5,000 through its insurance carrier.
Tink Larson Field was built in the 1930s and allows baseball players of all ages to play at the field, including the high school.
