Fire temporarily closes Loring Station Post Office
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minneapolis firefighters responded to a fire at the Loring Station Post Office at 18 12th Street North, late Saturday night.
Callers reported black smoke coming from the building at approximately 11 p.m., but no employees or customers were in the building when the fire started.
Due to the fire, the Loring Station has been temporarily closed until repairs can be made, a USPS press release said.
Delivery, caller service and retail operations will be temporarily relocated to the Main Post Office at 100 S. 1st Street in Minneapolis. The press release also said P.O. Box mail will be moved to the Butler Quarter Station at 100 N. 6th Street, Suite 120B.
It is unknown when services will resume at Loring Station.
