What's next for the Jan. 6 rioters?

Nearly half of the Minnesotans charged in the Capitol riot investigation have either been found guilty or pleaded guilty.

Former Minneapolis resident Brian Mock was handed one of the heaviest sentences – three years in prison – after he kicked a fallen officer, threw a flagpole at officers and stole riot shields.

Several Minnesotans still facing trial for Jan. 6

By the numbers: At least seven Minnesotans are still facing trial.

Father and son duo Caleb and Kenneth Fuller tried to get a federal judge to delay their trial, which is set to take place the week before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. However, the judge refused to delay the trial based on "speculation" about possible pardons or charging decisions.

What we don’t know: Trump told Time magazine last month one of the first acts of his presidency will be to pardon most of the rioters, saying "it’s going to start in the first hour… maybe the first nine minutes."

However, it’s unclear how many people he might pardon.

What’s next: The Department of Justice continues its efforts to identify people who participated in the breach of the Capitol and charge them with federal crimes.
