Missing teen found safe after being reported missing by Minneapolis PD

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Minneapolis Police Department says a missing teenager has been found safe after asking for the public's help to find him.

What we know: The Minneapolis Police Department issued an alert on Thursday evening for 16-year-old boy who went missing in the afternoon hours. Police later updated the alert, saying the boy was found safe. 

The backstory: Police say the teenager doesn't live in Minneapolis but was in the city with his family when he jumped from their vehicle and ran away.
