Minneapolis, St. Paul declare snow emergencies Wednesday
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Both Minneapolis and St. Paul have declared a snow emergency, with plowing to begin at 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
Conditions are worsening in the Twin Cities metro. Up to 8 inches could fall by the end of the day.
A number of other cities in the area have also declared snow emergencies, including Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, St. Louis Park, Bloomington, Faribault and Red Wing.
MINNEAPOLIS SNOW EMERGENCY RULES
Snow emergency rules will go into effect in Minneapolis at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Day 1: Do not park on EITHER side of a Snow Emergency route until 8 a.m., or the street is fully plowed.
Day 2: Do not park on the EVEN numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 p.m., or that side of the street is fully plowed, or on EITHER side of a parkway until 8 p.m., or the parkway is fully plowed.
Day 3: Do not park on the ODD numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 p.m., or that side of the street is fully plowed.

ST. PAUL SNOW EMERGENCY RULES
Snow emergency rules will go into effect in St. Paul at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Day 1: Beginning at 9:00 p.m., all NIGHT PLOW ROUTES will be plowed. Night Plow Routes include streets with signs posted that say "NIGHT PLOW ROUTE" and "NIGHT PLOW ROUTE-THIS SIDE OF STREET."
Day 2: Beginning at 8:00 a.m. all DAY PLOW ROUTES will be plowed. If the street is not marked as a “Night Plow Route,” it is considered a Day Plow Route.
Parking is banned until streets are plowed full width. Ticketing and towing will begin at 9:00 p.m. the day the snow emergency is declared, and continues until parking restrictions are removed.
