St. Paul police investigating shooting death in Highland Park
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Police in St. Paul, Minnesota are investigating an apparent homicide after a man was found dead in the Highland Park neighborhood Tuesday night.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a house on the 2200 block of West Seventh Street and found the victim inside the house suffering from a gunshot wound, not breathing and unresponsive.
Officers attempted to render aid to the victim, but he was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identifed as Ruben Paramo, 42, of St. Paul.
A 33-year-old Newport man was arrested Tuesday night after a brief pursuit with officers downtown, police said Wednesday. He has been booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of murder.
The shooting remains under investigation.
This is the 28th homicide of the year in Saint Paul.
