Teen injured in hunting accident in Brown County

A 16-year-old girl received non-life threatening injuries after getting hit with birdshot in a hunting accident in Morgan, Minn., according to the Brown County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 2 p.m. on Monday, deputies responded to a report of a hunting accident north of the 33000 block of 327th Avenue.

The teen, Nadia Meyers, was hunting for small game when another member of her hunting party shot at a rabbit. Birdshot hit Meyers, who was 91 feet away, in the back of her legs. An ambulance took her to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

The case is under investigation by the Brown County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
