Woman struck, killed in St. Louis Park by suspected intoxicated driver

A woman was struck and killed in St. Louis Park on Monday night by a man that police suspect might have been driving while intoxicated.

Fatal crash

What we know: Police responded to the report of a crash involving pedestrians on the 3900 block of Meadowbrook Road in St. Louis Park around 6 p.m. on Monday.

When they arrived, officers found a 51-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle. The woman died at the scene, while the man was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Potential charges

The latest: Police say the driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man, is in custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, criminal vehicular operation and criminal vehicular homicide.

The Minnesota State Patrol and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the investigation.
