ICE targets Twin Cities Somalis: St. Paul Mayor Carter responds
Minneapolis and St. Paul officials responded to reports that as many as 100 federal agents will be deployed to the Twin Cities, with a specific focus on targeting the Somali community. During the press conference, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter called out a shifting view on immigration, saying, “It seems to many of us like the darker the skin the immigrants who come to our country are, the more our posture on immigration as a country has shifted. That's un-American. That's concerning.”
