Bystanders pull 23-month-old girl from under car in Brandon, Minn. parking lot

A 23-month-old child was struck by a vehicle in Brandon, Minnesota after 4 p.m. Saturday.

The yet-to-be-named child was with her siblings at Chippewa Park on County Road 108 in Brandon when a slow moving vehicle struck her while she was walking across the parking lot.

Residents nearby were able to pull the child out from under the vehicle as first responders arrived at the scene.

She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in the Twin Cities. Her current condition is unknown.

The driver was identified as a 32-year-old man from Alexandria.

An investigation into the incident is underway by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
