Chihuahua stolen from St. Paul humane society by woman, boy

A 10-year-old Chihuahua mix was stolen from the St. Paul, Minn. location of the Animal Humane Society by a woman and a young boy on Thursday afternoon.

The Animal Humane Society is asking for information about dog that was stolen from its St. Paul, Minn. location on Thursday afternoon. AHS staff say the dog is urgently in need of medication for his health.

A woman and a young boy were visiting with a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix named Abuelo around 3:45 p.m. when they left the premises with the dog without permission from staff, according to AHS.

Abuelo was brought to the humane society on March 16 after he was found in St. Paul as a stray. He recently had a large tumor removed from under his tail and had been taking antibiotics to prevent infection as his incision heals. AHS staff is concerned about the safety of the dog because his health and recovery depend on the medicine he was receiving.

The suspects are described as a blonde woman in her late 30s or early 40s and a boy approximately 8 to 10 years old.

Anyone with information about Abuelo’s whereabouts is asked to call St. Paul police at 651-291-1111.
