Crash shuts down section of Green Line light rail in St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - A section of the Green Line light rail shut down for about three hours after a vehicle crashed into a pole on the light rail tracks, according to St. Paul police.
Authorities responded to the crash around 5 p.m. at University Avenue W and Chatsworth Avenue N in St. Paul.
Police say there were five people in the vehicle. One person is in critical condition, another is in serious but stable condition.
Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Metro Transit officials say the crash caused the power to go down on that section of track.
Crews restored light rail service around 8:15 p.m.
