Found human leg may not be from missing boater

Crews search for missing boater on Mississippi River on April 30th.

Ramsey County Sheriff's Office officials say the human leg found washed up on the Mississippi River Wednesday may not be connected to a missing boater.

Sgt. John Eastham says “they aren’t assuming anything” about whose leg it might be and police are waiting for test results from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Dakota County Sheriff’s Captain Dan Bianconi told The Pioneer Press a group of children found the decomposed leg floating near the Rock Island Swing Bridge. He then said the leg “most likely” belonged to the man who fell overboard in St. Paul on April 30 and went missing. Eastham says crews are still searching for the missing boater.

Also missing is the University of Minnesota student David Michael Miller, who was last seen Tuesday evening.
