Kenyon man missing from assisted living facility found safe

Authorities in southern Minnesota spent Sunday morning searching for a missing man who left an assisted care facility Saturday evening. He was later found safe in town.

About 120-plus people helped search for him.

Kenyon Police announced their search on Facebook with an updated timeline of their efforts, writing that the 80-year-old, named Charles, had called a family member around 6:30 a.m., but seemed confused about where he was.

Later Sunday morning police brought search and rescue K9 units and focused their efforts on the area of Charles' last cell phone "ping." Authorities are also planned on using a drone to assist in their search.
