Man arrested for high speed chase with infant in car
BLUE EARTH COUNTY, Minn. (KMSP) - A man was arrested after fleeing police at over 100mph in Blue Earth County, Minnesota.
Around 11 p.m. Friday, a Janesville police officer spotted the Mercury Milan going west on Waseca County Road 2 at about 112 mph. When the officer and a Waseca County sheriff's deputy tried to stop the car, the driver continued into Blue Earth County on County Road 15 towards St. Clair.
The driver slowed down on Main Street, then turned north on Highway 83, going over 100mph.
Authorities were able to stop the car with a Pursuit Intervention Technique, causing the car to enter a ditch.
The driver, a 21 year old man, was taken into custody, and officers located a 1-and-a-half-year old child in the back seat safely buckled into a car seat. Paramedics checked the child for injuries, and the child was found uninjured.
The Waseca County Sheriff's patrol car and the suspect vehicle had minor damage.
