Minneapolis City Council approves 3-year reapppointment of Chief Harteau

Janeé Harteau will serve as Minneapolis Police Chief for three more years.

The Minneapolis City Council unanimously approved Harteau's three-year reappointment Friday.

At a meeting earlier this week, dozens of residents weighed in on Harteau's performance. Most of them supported the chief, but Harteau still got an earful from her critics.

Harteau says she stand behind her record over the last three years.

There have been a lot of opinions, a lot of emotions running high but do I fall or I should say I stand on my record?” Harteau said.  “I stand on what I’ve done and I stand on what this department has done. I have a great team. I couldn't be more proud of this department.”
