Twin Cities road conditions: Slick roads Friday morning

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Roads across the Twin Cities metro are slick Friday morning after Thursday's snow.

Slick morning commute after snowy Thursday

What we know: The Twin Cities metro picked up several inches of snow on Thursday, and some roads are still a bit slick for the Friday morning commute.

Roads are looking better than they did during the Thursday morning commute, but slick spots are still proving to be an issue. There are a few reported incidents on Twin Cities roadways during the 6 a.m. hour, including vehicles that have spun out.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation's website lists most major roadways in the Twin Cities as "normal" or partially covered in snow.

Snow emergencies, parking restriction in metro

Several cities within the Twin Cities metro area have declared snow emergencies, including Minneapolis and St. Paul. Parking restrictions are in effect as snowplow crews work to clear the streets. FOX 9’s Bill Kelle her more from St. Paul.

MN weather: Chilly on Friday and Saturday

It will be a chilly end to the workweek with highs in the upper teen for the Twin Cities metro. The cold will linger into Saturday before a warming trend arrives for next week. FOX 9 meteorologist Jared Piepenburg has your forecast.
