North High teacher in St. Paul placed on leave

A North High School teacher in St. Paul has been placed on leave after a complaint came in from a former student alleging employee misconduct late last week.

Principal Greg Nelson sent an email to families on Monday. He did not name the teacher and did not discuss the nature of the allegations, but said an investigation is underway.

North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Superintendent Christine Osorio said the school will release more information when the investigation is complete.

Dear North High Families,

I’m writing to provide you with information regarding an allegation of employee misconduct at North High School.
I have received an allegation of inappropriate conduct against one of our employees. The employee will be out on leave from our district during the investigation. Due to privacy laws and the ongoing investigation, I am unable to provide additional details about the allegation.

The safety of our students is always a top priority. I hope you'll take this opportunity to encourage your child to talk to a trusted adult if they have any concerns about school. Our staff are available to any students who would like to talk or share information. If you have questions, please call me at 651-748-6000.

Sincerely,
Greg Nelson, Principal
North High School
