Plymouth girl, 15, passes away after Highway 55 crash

Police in Plymouth, Minnesota confirmed Monday morning that a 15-year-old girl injured in a crash last Thursday on Highway 55 has passed away. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the girl as Cecelia Wold of Plymouth.

Roger Wold, 86, of Golden Valley, also passed away in the crash.

According to Plymouth police, the preliminary investigation indicates that four vehicles were involved in the crash. Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on Highway 55. Vehicle 2 was westbound on Highway 55, turning left to go south on Xenium Lane when the two vehicles collided. Following the initial crash, vehicle 2 settled between vehicles 3 and 4 which were stopped at the intersection. Vehicles 3 and 4 were traveling northbound on Xenium Lane/Northwest Boulevard.

An 86-year-old man from Golden Valley, who was a passenger in Vehicle 2, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Roger Wold.

The crash is under investigation by Hennepin County Crime Lab, Plymouth Police, and the state crash reconstruction team.
