St. Paul police: Cathedral incident was 'highly visible disturbance call'
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Authorities are investigating after a homeless man was lighting paper on fire inside the St. Paul Cathedral Saturday.
According to police, a homeless man entered the cathedral around noon and set several papers on fire. Witnesses were able to extinguish the fire.
Police found a brown paper bag containing a Bible and Koran tied together with wires, so they called the bomb squad. The squad was able to confirm it was not a bomb.
Police said they took extra precaution with the "highly visible disorderly conduct call" due to this morning's explosion at an Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minnesota.
