St. Paul's RiverCentre parking ramp reopens after concrete fell on car this spring

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - St. Paul's RiverCentre parking ramp has been reopened after a large piece of concrete fell from the ceiling, damaging a car back in May.

Nobody was injured in the incident, but hundreds of drivers who regularly park in the lot were diverted elsewhere.

According to a release, officials conducted several comprehensive assessments of the parking ramp's integrity and safety, and "recommended a plan of action identifying additional safety measures." Officials agreed to fulfill those safety measures, and exceed the recommendations by installing safety nets throughout the entire structure.
