Vikings K Blair Walsh named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Vikings kicker Blair Walsh was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday after his club’s 49-17 rout over the New York Giants on Sunday night, in which he made two field goals from beyond the 50-yard line.
Walsh connected on 32, 52, 22, 53 and 27-yard field goals, accounting for 19 of the Vikings 49 points. He has grabbed this title five times in his career, the most in Vikings team history.
Walsh has tallied five or more field goals in three career games, matching Gary Anderson’s record.
