Minnesota weather: Morning fog ahead of cloudy and peaceful day on Tuesday
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Tuesday is a fairly quiet day with morning fog, overcast skies and temperatures in the lower 30s.

What to expect: A dense fog advisory is in effect for western and northern Minnesota until noon on Tuesday, with some areas experiencing visibility less than a quarter of a mile. While the Twin Cities metro may also experience pockets of dense fog during the morning, it is not included in the advisory.
The combination of colder temperatures and the moisture from the fog could lead to some icy spots on elevated and untreated surfaces across northern and western Minnesota.
Overall, Tuesday will be fairly quiet with overcast skies and southerly winds around 5 mph. Temperatures will reach the 20s in northern Minnesota, while central and southern regions will climb into the lower 30s. The Twin Cities metro daytime high is around 32 degrees.
Overnight, conditions will remain cloudy with patchy fog, as temperatures dip into the upper 20s across much of the state.

What's next: Wednesday is more of the same with mostly cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperatures, with the Twin Cities metro area reaching around 34 degrees. While things are starting to thaw, there will still be snow on the ground for a white Christmas on Wednesday.
The clouds linger on Thursday before moisture moves in overnight for a rainy Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will be well above average with highs in the 40s.
The clouds will persist through the weekend, though we could see some sunshine at the start of the week.
