1 injured in shooting outside Brooklyn Center, Minn. Wal-Mart
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (KMSP) - One person was injured in a shooting outside the Wal-Mart in Brooklyn Center, Minn. late Tuesday afternoon.
Brooklyn Center Police Department Commander Garett Flesland said officers responded to a report of gunshots outside the store at 1200 Shingle Creek Crossing at approximately 4:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located one individual with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Flesland said the incident does not appear to be random and believes the two people involved knew each other. There is no threat to the public. No one is in custody at this time.
Following the shooting, Wal-Mart managers decided to close the store for the remainder of the night. The store is expected to reopen sometime Wednesday morning.
The shooting remains under investigation.
