To a roaring crowd in the nation’s capital, the 9-year-old granddaughter of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said she has a dream for a world without guns.

“My grandfather had a dream that his four little children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character,” said Yolanda Renee King. “I have a dream that enough is enough and that this should be a gun-free world. Period!”

The young girl then implored the crowd to repeat after her by telling them to say, “Spread the word! Have you heard? All across the nation, we are going to be a great generation.”

Hundreds of thousands of people took over the streets of Washington D.C. for the March for Our Lives rally seeking change while sending a message to lawmakers for stricter gun control to help stop gun violence in schools.
