Minneapolis police 4th Precinct inspector on paid leave

The Minneapolis Police Department has placed popular 4th Precinct Inspector Michael Friestleben on paid leave for a “personnel matter.” The exact reason was not disclosed.

Inspector Friestleben was appointed to the 4th Precinct last year. “Fritz” was born and raised on the north side, and since taking the post he’s “won the hearts of thousands of people living in one of the most economically challenged areas of the city.”

The 4th Precinct covers 1/5 of the city of Minneapolis, bounded by the Mississippi River on the east, Interstate 394 on the south and the city limits on the west and north.
