St. Paul celebrates Rondo Neighborhood bridges grand opening
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Saint Paul's Rondo neighborhood was once known as the center of the city's African American community, but construction of a new interstate in the 1960's hurt the area and sent many people away.
On Saturday, two bridges attempted to close that gap. The community celebrated the grand opening of new pedestrian and bike bridges crossing Interstate 94.
The neighborhood is well known for its Rondo Days celebration every year.
