St. Paul Central student gets his words on Chipotle cups, bags

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - St. Paul Central High School student Fue Xiong is joining the likes of Toni Morrison, Neil Gaiman, Aziz Ansari and Judd Apatow. Xiong, 17, is one of 10 students to have a writing submission selected for Chipotle’s “Cultivating Thought” author series.

Xiong’s submission, titled “Two Minutes About Sardines,” will be featured on Chipotle cups and carryout bags across the country. The submission reads, “We walked the dirt road home, my five-year-old stomach wanting me to hurry.”

For his selected submission, Xiong also receives a $20,000 scholarship. He said his mother and brother inspired him to write his emotional essay. Read more at http://cultivatingthought.com/author/fue-xiong.
