Man fatally shot behind St. Paul home

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - St. Paul police are conducting a homicide investigation after a person was found dead with an apparent gunshot injury in the city's West Side neighborhood early Monday morning. 

Just after midnight, a 911 caller reported a person on the ground behind a home on the 400 block of South Clinton Avenue. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police are investigating the circumstances of his death. Investigators are also searching through any surveillance video related to the incident. 

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy to identify the victim.
