Gophers basketball dismisses Carlos Morris for 'detrimental conduct'
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The University of Minnesota men's basketball program has dismissed senior Carlos Morris for "conduct detrimental to the team," head coach Richard Pitino announced Wednesday afternoon.
No exact details were given regarding his conduct. The athletics department said Morris will remain on scholarship and have access to academic support services through the remainder of the school year.
Morris, 23, is from Apalachicola, Florida. He graduated from Arlington Country Day School in Jacksonville. From 2012 to 2014 he played for Chipola College then transferred to Minnesota. Last year, he was the team's third leading scorer with an average of 11.1 points per game.
