Governor Mark Dayton returns home after surgeries
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Governor Mark Dayton returned to the Governor's Residence in St. Paul after a 40-day stay at the Mayo Clinic.
Dayton had two spinal procedures completed in mid-October. He was supposed to be released days later, but remained at the hospital. The governor suffered lung damage as a complication to the surgeries.
In a phone conference with media Tuesday, Dayton said the surgeries and rehab did not impact his cognitive function or ability to communicate with his staff.
Dayton did not seek re-election this year and will leave office in January.
