Temperatures rise, flooding continues across southern MN
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (FOX 9) - The spring season officially begins on Wednesday, March 20th!
We’re finally talking about highs in the 50s, but after record breaking snowfall this past winter… we’re dealing with potential flooding.
There is currently one river reaching Major Flooding criteria. Cottonwood River at New Ulm is at 14.66 ft. and is expected to crest somewhere around 17ft. by Tuesday, March 26th. Flood stage is 11 ft.
Redwood River at Marshall, Minnesota River near Morton, Mississippi River at St. Paul and at Hastings have not reached the Major Flooding criteria, but are forecasted to within the next week and a half.
Some locations near the Twin Cities that can expect Moderate Flooding within the week are the
Minnesota River at Savage and at Jordan.
Good news: forecast remains dry as rivers continue to rise. No additional water is expected aside from the melting snow and ice.
